It has awesome location around 4-6 minutes' walk from an ornate theater. There is a super restaurant at a short distance from hotel. Make sure you stay in the twin room with better equipment.

The hotel had a central position near a lot of local restaurants near by as well as Rio de Janeiro...
The staff - some of them were extremely rude.

Overall had fantastic stay for 1 night. The staff was affable, the room was exceptionally comfortable with better equipment, everything was good. The location was awesome, to get to the major sightseeing, in the good area. I visited Pizzalandia, based not too far from the hotel, had dinner there.

Reception desk staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is excellent.
The architecture inside the building is such that there is no air circulation whatsoever which makes the air in the room stuffy even when no one is in. The room arrangement is such that one of the beds is immediately in front of the bathroom door.

Some things that happened to me at this hotel: --One leg of the bed fell off --One day they forgot to make my bed --Every time I get into the bed I start with a pretty bad allergy. Note this happened to me when I got into the hotel bed and not elsewhere, so it is a bed related thing. Very likely the bed is not clean because this does not happen to me at home. --Crappy TV, like from the early 90s --very noisy

Hotel reception was nice
During our break we stayed in better hostels than the Hotel OK, which is supposedly 5*. The room was very small, extremely basic and struck us as "hostel star", particularly because of the poor bedding and the view onto the side of the building next door. The loaction was more Lapa, than Centro which is rather more dangerous and the staff would rather answer call after call than attend the front desk. It was rather expensive for what it was and I woudl not recommend it at all. Maybe at 2*

They didnt respect the price of bookings.com so we left there they wanted to charge 520 reales more, about 270 dollars extra. Plus the are is pretty bad.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean but not very large (maybe this is the case everywhere in Rio?).
The hotel is located close to the city center. Therefore the street is very crowded and dirty and maybe also not too secure during evening and night.

Clean room, clean and modern bathroom. Good location
Internet is not working 100% of the time. My neighbor is very noisy after hours but I guess it is just that room, can't blame the hotel for this.

What I liked best was that the reception staff made every effort to help me, especially the one who spent a long time on the phone trying to help me locate my delayed luggage from the airport. He was friendly and polite and I appreciated his help a lot. The rooms and facilities were more than adequate for my needs, and the buffet breakfast choice was great. The price was excellent. I'd definitely stay there again.
Not the hotel's fault, but Centro is not the greatest location in Rio; not the cleanest or most interesting part. Having said that, I felt safe, and saw good nightlife including locals Capoiera dancing in the square.

Location, breakfast, decor, hotel staff.
The unusual arrangment of the rooms placed aound the outer edge on each floor with the centre section being completelty open from the top of the hotel to the bottom. This seems to channel noise upward through the open space.

Can just recommend for resting at all
Comfortable room, friendly staff, the outdoor swimming pool on the roof terrace was a great way to relax after a day of exploring, and the location was conveniently just 200 meters from the nearest metro station.
No drawbacks at all.

great location but basic amenities
The location is a major advantage, with easy access to public transport and numerous dining options nearby. I appreciated the comfortable bed and clean linens.
The amenities could use some updating.
